Besides, Amar Bandhu Rashed will be screened at Tokyo after the festival. Bangladesh Journalists’ and Writers’ Forum in Japan will organise the screening.
Morshedul Islam’s movie Amar Bondhu Rashed is based on Muhammad Zafar Iqbal’s having the same title. The story of the film depicts a boy named Ibu during the war of independence in 1971.

Scripted by Morshedul Islam and Barkat Ullah Maruf, the story revolves around a young boy named Rashed and his young friends who get involved with the Muktibahini (freedom fighters). In an open confrontation a freedom fighter of their group gets captured and Rashed along with his friends, by means of his extraordinary plan, helps him escape from death.

The movie ends with the liberation of Bangladesh as well as the death of Rashed, who becomes the victim of local collaborators and finally gets killed by the Pakistani army.

Chowdhury Zawata Afnan plays the lead role of Rashed. Country’s celebrated actors including Enamul Huq, Pijush Banerjee, Raisul Islam Asad and Wahida Mallik Jolly also play important roles in the movie.

Amar Bandhu Rashed was premiered in 2011.
